Georgina enquired about having a bespoke 1920s-style headpiece made to wear with her luxurious but simple bias-cut silk dress from Sabina Motasem for her summer wedding in Dubrovnik, Croatia. Being based only an hour away from the studio, Georgina visited the studio giving us the opportunity to look at possible styles and materials. An original vintage paste-set dress ornament with an unusual shape and wonderful fringe of paste-tipped chain piqued her attention, particularly as it dated from the era that was inspiring her bridal look. She was particularly struck by the soft tone of the vintage paste stones and the aged patina of the gilt metal work of the piece which combined beautifully with the champagne-hue of her silk dress.
We teamed it with a paste-set dress buckle from the same period and a strand of vintage paste trim, embellished with some spare pearls and crystals left over from alternations to Georgina’s wedding dress belt creating an entirely original headpiece with a signature 1920s-flapper style.
After their wedding, Georgia got in touch with some words of thanks,
‘I wanted to thank you so much for my headpiece, it will be something I treasure forever’,
and these beautiful images from Nina Anic (@nina_nphoto), a destination wedding photographer based in Croatia.
